We act as a link between farmers and other stakeholders in the sector, representing farmers' interests to companies that have a vested interest in cotton production. For example, we negotiate with out growers to regulate pre-planting prices based on seed cotton prices, input supply packages, and payment terms.
We are propents and lobby for Zambia becoming a member of ICAC quality parameters, and facilitate improved extension services to cotton farmers between out growers, MACO extension services, research insititutions, NGOs, CFU, donors, and others.
We engage the out grower schemes, providing a conduit for dissemination of practical research, extension, and policy information to cotton growers.Another service offered by the Cotton Association is the building up of existing small holder cotton farmer groups, and the facilities to form new ones where necessary.
We provide information to cotton farmers on prices, pricing structures, input costs, transparent contracts, and the best cotton management practices. The Cotton Association also links our members to key cotton stakeholder groups and service providers through field days, open days and demonstrations.
